“If you are looking for a REAL Montessori school....authentic materials, uninterrupted work cycles, three year age spans, expertly trained guides....then you need to visit The Montessori School in Dresher. I can not say enough great things about the solid academic foundation this authentic Montessori school provides. My oldest child who attended the school since the age of 4 recently graduated and was accepted into a very competitive local independent school where she was more than prepared to the point that her transition to 7th grade was virtually seamless. I credit the guides with preparing her and all of their students to be engaged, self motivated learners who partake in in-depth studies and learn complex concepts to the point of mastery and not just for a passing grade on a test. The depth and breadth of knowledge that these students acquire and retain with this hands on individualized method of teaching is truly remarkable. We are so grateful to this school for providing our children with the skills and confidence that they can take risks, make mistakes, learn from them, move on and flourish! My kids have the tools they need to be independent lifelong learners!”

“Our son is a student at The Montessori School. His experience began as a 3 year old and he is now in his 5th grade year. He has thrived academically, is an independent thinker with a healthy self confidence and good character. The faculty is the heart of the school, truly remarkable. The Head of School is a hidden gem. The environment is welcoming, clean and cared for. Our experience for nearly 8 years convinces us that this was/is the best choice we could have made for our son. It's worth the investment, you won't find better.”

“We decided to change our daughter's care, from a daycare to TMS almost 2 years ago (she is now 4) when we felt that she was not getting the best possible care. When our daughter started at TMS, the difference was obvious and remarkable. She started in the Children's House classroom, and was gently and carefully introduced into the class. Personal attention was given to her during that time of transition, while her highly trained teacher quickly gained a sense of her most subtle qualities and strengths. She was introduced to the excellent Montessori lessons one after another in a very personalized way, based on her interests, strengths, and potential. We immediately noticed the attentiveness, personalization, and incredibly caring nature of each teacher and staff member at TMS, devoted to the progress of our child. Her teacher encourages us to be involved with her development through emails and intermittent one-on-one meetings, with ideas to reinforce her lessons and education at home. She has impressively started to read simple books at 4 years of age and loves doing simple addition and even an appreciation for nature, art, play, and mindfulness.”

“My children have been at The Montessori School in Dresher for all of their schooling. My spouse and I believe fully in the Montessori method of teaching, especially the idea of meeting the child where he is in his learning and development and not trying to shoe-horn him into a prescribed mold. This is a powerful method, in that it allowed one of my children to move with math skills as far and as fast as he was ready. It allowed another child the extra time needed to learn to read, without the pressure of trying to keep up with the group. I expect that when my older child graduates, he will be ready for algebra one in 7th grade. The school gives the children a strong foundation in math, verbal and public speaking skills. It also promotes tremendous independence and responsibility in students. But, best of all? My children’s love of learning and curiosity is still as bright and evident as it was when they entered the school as 3-year-olds. I can’t think of a better thing to say about a school than that.”

“We chose TMS for our child because we wanted an authentic Montessori education for her, and it has been the best decision we have made. Every single employee, guides and staff, are supportive and we are confident that our child is getting exactly what she needs. The guides keep an open line of communication at all times. If there ever is an issue we can be sure that it will be communicated to us immediately. These guides, from the toddler program all the way through Upper El, consistently illustrate their commitment to the children's well being. I drop my child off everyday knowing that she is not only in the best hands, but most capable as well.”

“The Montessori School is amazing!  My children have attended this school since they were 18 months and they are now 5 and 3 years old.  The toddler program is great.  Both of my children learned how to be independent and conscious of others and the environment.  The children’s house program, which my children are currently in, is nothing short of amazing.  My kindergartener is learning so much.  He can draw a map of the world and name all the continents, his math skills are effortless and he is already working on geometry, he loves to read and brings home books each week to read to me, and his knowledge about nature is vast.  My 3 year old is soaking up all the learning that is going on like a sponge.  The mixed age group (ages 3 to 6) has helped her desire to learn more.  She is interested in what the older children are doing and this has increased her love of learning.  She now wants to do math and read like the “big kids” and the “big kids” are helping her.   The best part is both of my children get upset when I pick them up from school because they want to stay to learn more.  As a parent, I couldn’t want anything more.  The students are respectful and well mannered, the guides are caring, patient, and are able to find the light in each child that not only makes them want to learn but to learn more.  The skills my children are learning are invaluable not just the educational aspect of it but also the human aspect in respecting and caring and helping others.  I would highly recommend this school.  TMS is giving my children a great head start in their education and in life.  I am thankful I found them.”

“The Montessori School (TMS) gets results, the children are happy, and there are no bully issues!  I used to think that Montessori was just for “nuts and granola people,” but I was wrong.  I’m glad that I listened to a trusted friend and went to look at the school.  When I visited TMS and saw the second grade children doing long division, I knew something was up! TMS has a great, specific, sequential curriculum that the children learn until they master the material.  The TMS curriculum exceeds what the children are taught in local private schools that charge twice as much.  In addition, in the elementary grades, especially grades 4-6, the kids learn to organize themselves and their weekly work.  By the time they graduate in 6th grade, the TMS graduates are ready to excel at ANY school anywhere (and they do!).  At TMS they “teach the child to fish,”  they don’t just organize everything for them, sit them at desks, and stuff as much into their brains as will fit (like they do at other private and public schools).  At TMS the children learn how to learn, study, and follow their natural inquisitive nature.  In addition, at TMS the children have almost no homework, so they are fresh and ready to learn the next day.  After school, they have time to play and just be kids!  I moved my children (now 3rd and 5th grade) to TMS from a local, prestigious, private, PK-12 school to get my kids off the "Race to Nowhere" track of minimum 1.5 hours per night of homework for my (then) 8 year old!  More is not always better, but at TMS you get more for your child and more for your money.  It’s a win-win proposition.”

“The Montessori School is a hidden gem! It provides the best education I know of in the Philadelphia suburbs, and it's a bargain (for a private school) to boot! The school offers a very pure Montessori curriculum (not a watered-down pre-school version) in a caring atmosphere. Academics are rigorous, but taught in a way that engages students so that they own their own learning, which lets them enjoy it. Students gain independence but also learn how to collaborate effectively. The faculty is second to none. The student body is very diverse. Although the building isn't the nicest (you can see they put their money where it matters - in the teachers and the materials) the feeling of warmth and active "buzz" just can't be beat. We feel so lucky that we found this wonderful school for our girls!”

“OUR FAMILY feels fortunate to have found this hidden gem. Our son is a kindergartner and has attended The Montessori School for 3 years so far, and we are amazed at how and how much he is learning. For example, while we were on vacation last year, he was begging us to write out three and four digit addition and subtraction problems for him, which he quickly solved. This summer, he was adding in his head and singing “2+2 is 4, 4+4 is 8…” up through “4,096 + 4,096 is 8,192.” As much as I want to brag about my own child, it isn’t that. The environment and method used at TMS is the magic. Each child is able to investigate what they are interested in and ready for. Also, with the mixed age group (age 3 to 6) kids learn to help and be helped, and are both challenged by and respectful of the achievements of others. Incredibly, my son and his young peer group at TMS already have developed an ability to concentrate, and they know how to write, read books, know continents and countries, have a strong understanding of numbers operations and geometry, etc. I highly recommend TMS to any parent hoping for their child’s love of learning to be nurtured and to give their child a head start.”

“ABSOLUTELY ONE of the best decisions my husband and I ever made was choosing The Montessori School for our daughter s education! While the exterior of the school is not very exciting, the school more than makes up for it with their curriculum, staff and education experience. The TMS program operates true to Maria Montessori s principles and is delivered by one of the most dedicated faculty and administration staff. I am constantly amazed by the results this Montessori education has awarded my girls and all the graduates. It provides our children with a foundation of knowledge and skill sets that prepares them for higher level education. Our children learn to master research, collaboration, public speaking and time management all by the sixth grade! In addition to the curriculum, TMS teaches our children the importance of respect for others and peaceful behavior. In comparison to what other schools offer, the tuition is a bargain. I couldn't imagine my girls going to any other school. We are so happy to have found TMS!”

“AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! Our children are in the Lower Elementary program (grades 1-3) and we are constantly impressed by the quality of the work they do each day. The academics are far superior to what we have seen anywhere else – public or private. From math to science to creative writing to geography – the concepts are presented in an interesting, individualized/customized manner using the Montessori materials. Students are introduced to engineering concepts, public speaking, research papers, environmental studies…..you really need to stop in to see how challenging the work is – yet how much the students LOVE it and thrive in the classroom. Our children are truly learning life lessons here in a peaceful and caring environment. We cannot say enough about the staff – the teachers and the administrators are caring, approachable, and knowledgeable. The Montessori School is the best thing we have ever done for our children.”

“WE HAD decided to change our daughter’s care, from a local day care to The Montessori School about 1.5 years ago (she is now 4). At the time, we had felt that our child was not getting the best possible care. The day care seemed more like a babysitting institution that would simply try to pass the day with general activities that were applied across the board to all children. They even discouraged our bilingual daughter from speaking our native language at home, pressing us to only speak to her in English at all times. When our daughter started at the Montessori School, the difference was obvious and very noticeable. She started in the Children’s House classroom, and was gently and carefully introduced into the class. Personal attention was given to her during that time of transition, while her highly trained teacher quickly gained a sense of her most subtle qualities, those that even some of our family members didn’t know about her. Our daughter was introduced to the excellent Montessori lessons one after another in a very personalized way, based on her interests, strengths, and potential. We immediately noticed the attentiveness, personalization, and incredibly caring nature of each teacher and staff member at The Montessori School, devoted to the progress of our child. Two and a half years later, we continue to be amazed! Our daughter’s teacher continues to allow us to be involved with her development through emails and intermittent one-on-one meetings, with ideas to reinforce her lessons and education at home. Our daughter has loved going to this school and misses it so much during weekends and vacation days. She has impressively started to read full sentences and simple books at 4 years of age and loves doing simple addition. She has an appreciation for nature, art, play, and mindfulness. We enrolled our 2 year old son in the toddler class earlier this year. His toddler class teacher came for a home visit. Then, during an orientation day at the school, he was personally introduced to his classroom by her, and he has loved going to school since day 1.”

“MY CHILDREN started at The Montessori School at age 3. I am beyond pleased with the academic work and the wonderful relationships the teachers (guides) have with their students. Classes are grouped in 3 year cycles, so my kids have the same teacher for 3 years. They are able to get to know my child and form a relationship of respect. Academically both my kids are above their peers in every subject. My 2nd grader has no required homework but is expected to read something every night, and we are encouraged to help memorize multiplication tables. So different from the hours of homework friends in other schools have. Yet my child and the other 2nd graders at TMS, are ahead of them. I was so impressed that the 1st graders were doing research reports about an animal of their choice, including 3 references and an oral presentation. The teachers undergo a rigorous training program that is evident in the classroom. Each classroom is a community of students who are expected to respect and teach each other. The older children in the classes have responsibilities to teach and assist their younger classmates (3-K, grades 1-3, 4-6). They are creating leaders at TMS. And my kids LOVE TMS.”
