About the Parent Network
The Parent Network is the principal organization for parents and volunteerism on behalf of The Montessori School. Its mission is to build a stronger community and provide financial support for the school. Parents are welcome to attend monthly meetings and are encouraged to participate in the school community through the Parent Network. The primary means of communication by the Parent Network is through notices in the weekly e-newsletter that is sent out to all school families. The Parent Network:
- Encourages community participation through social events
- Supports the school’s community service curriculum
- Augments school services with programs such as the Lunch program to benefit parents
- Contributes to the operating budget through an array of fundraising efforts
events
Parent Network sponsors various events throughout the course of the school year including the Fall Festival, Global Celebration, the Spring Auction, the End-of-the-Year Picnic and the Golf Outing. These events are designed to help school families form friendships, engage in community service projects together, learn more about TMS and the Montessori method, volunteer their talents and skills for TMS, enjoy seasonal activities and watch children’s performances. Parents and other supporters can help TMS earn much needed cash. Each time supporters shop at any Giant using their Giant Bonus Card from Oct. 7, 2012-March 30, 2013, TMS will earn School Rewards, money which can be used in any way. V DAC is a free, convenient service for converting that extra car, truck, or RV into a tax deductible donation benefiting The Montessori School.
