Ages 18 months to 3 years
The Montessori School toddler program represents the youngest age level in our nurturing Montessori educational community. Children are engaged in their classroom by real life activities, using child-sized materials (such as plates, glasses, silverware, etc) that foster their emerging independence. The toddler environment is designed to honor a young child’s natural need for movement, “sensory experience”*, and meaningful work.
*Quick Montessori Definition/Sensory Experience: Activities that develop and refine the 5 senses—seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling—and build a foundation for speech, writing, and math through the use of sensorial materials. The outcome brings to order the barrage of sensorial impressions that the child experiences from birth onward. Check out our Glossary for more Montessori definitions.
Toddlers may enroll in a half-day or all-day Montessori program. Half-day ends at 11:45am; all-day ends at 3:15pm or 6:00pm.
